Nessi Gomes holds a bachelor’s degree in creative expressive therapies in music, which is why her music can be described as a healing experience. She’s also a certified Holistic Voice Therapist with The British Academy of Sound Therapy (BAST) in group voice therapy. A major creative turning point in her music came upon settling in the community of PachaMama in Costa Rica. Living in the community deepened her approach toward music, therapy, and self-healing.
She captures the concept of pain and longing in her music. In fact, a recurring idea with her music is that healing doesn’t come from avoiding pain, but meeting it with honesty and compassion. Rather than seeing darkness as something to be conquered, she sees it as something that is meant to be understood and transformed.

Along with her haunting vocals, the acoustic steel-string guitars sit in the center of her music. Expressive piano playing, ambient soundscapes, and very subtle string sections create an introspective atmosphere. The defining characteristic within her music is her voice.
