About the Artist

Albert Cummings is a blues guitarist and singer-songwriter from Williamstown, Massachusetts. He began his musical journey at the age of 12, playing the banjo after developing an interest in bluegrass music. Those subtle country and bluegrass influences can still be heard in his music. He later picked up the guitar after discovering Stevie Ray Vaughan and became deeply influenced by his Texas blues guitar style. When he was 27, Albert Cummings started touring with his band Swamp Yankee throughout the northeast. He went on to release an album titled The Long Way. Outside of music, Albert Cummings is a master carpenter and custom home builder by trade. Cummings is the fourth generation of builders in his family, and second generation to balance careers in both music and construction. In interviews, Cummings has said that his work in home building has influenced the way he approaches songwriting, giving him a deeper appreciation for structure and musical composition.

While remaining faithful to traditional blues rock, Albert Cummings combines modern production with subtle country influences. The result is a sound that pays tribute to traditional blues while still feeling fresh. His energetic playing style reflects the influence of Stevie Ray Vaughan’s Texas blues approach. His deep, rich baritone voice is soulful and expressive. Cummings has said that musicians are often either performers or creators, and he strives to be a creator who brings originality to the blues.
